The Groovescooter Show and Jumping The Gap are weekly journeys through old and new funk, free-jazz, disco, Latin, Afrobeat, reggae, ska, psychedelia, film music, downbeat, soul, post-rock, dub, innovative electronics and hip hop... ... In fact just about anything with even a loose connection to the notion of 'groove' that happens to be bending our ears from anywhere around the globe.

To tell us about your music or new release, or to ask about something you've heard on the show, get in touch by zapping us an email (see below). We play CDs, vinyl and unreleased CDRs which can be sent directly to us with a bio and contact details [PO Box 127, Edgecliff NSW 2027].

Selectors Georgie and Paris started The Groovescooter show in 1997 as a weekly program on Eastside Radio. It was the precursor to the Groovescooter label which began in 1999. The Groovescooter Show is now in its second decade and continues with an alternating roster of selections from originators Georgie and Paris and newest contributor, ex-Creative Vibes staffer Buckwheat. who took over from Pink Frost (aka Scott Rashleigh) and Gordon 'Savage Gee' Watson (Yum Yum, Skull Sessions) in 2013. Former team player long-time pillion and global gatherer James Locksmith (Middlesize, Djembe!, Dust) got busy with tours for Nickodemus and other soul-feeding activities, and has now decamped to Dubai, whilst early in 2009 DJ Toon (Tiki Two) exited The Groovescooter show stage-left to start his own conga-line at the same time on Wednesday evenings. Toon's new show is called The Vinyl Frontier, which he shares with fellow rare-groove lover DJ Jön McCulloch. Both are well-worth tuning in to. The good news is, Eastside and The Groovescooter Show can now be heard gloabally, streaming at EastsideFM.org. Paris also has his own weekly show called Jumping The Gap on Sydney's 2SER, which you can stream via the world wide web at 2ser.com.
